have started to think that suicidal thoughts are secretly because one is just sick of one's own melodrama and angst, and wants to get away from it.

it's not just flip either; there may be something to it. spending an hour crying oneself to sleep is only marginally worse than not sleeping at all, but it is worse. what better way to finally get away from yourself than that, right?
