I am excruciatingly alone, no two ways about it. I think to myself, this is what you've got, this is all you will ever be and have.

one of the things I remember most clearly that the abnormal psychology prof said was this: depressed people don't necessarily have a skewed world-view. in a lot of cases, they have a fairly pragmatic, realistic world view. it's the people that can function and see themselves as the centre of the universe, and are thus not depressed, that are off-kilter with their view. just because someone says they have nothing and are nothing doesn't mean they're wrong.

I have nothing and am nothing, but that doesn't make me wrong.
