yep, definitely don�t let me convince you (or myself) that trains through [the former soviet bloc] area are a good idea. I don�t care how well thought out I sound, remind me of this conversation and how NOT good the idea is in practice, and how I like to shower once every few days at least.

suffice it to say I really really want to travel the silk road, via any means, however I don't want to be thrown in the trunk of someone's 1940s car and K&R'ed, nor do I want to find myself in the middle of uzbek on a broken down 2nd class train car.
