it's 9:15 pm, on January 13, 2003 - gnostic nsync.

~

So I wanted to make a longer entry about "you're what you love, not what loves you", and it went, at the time, something like this:

we love nsync in a different way from most people. We love them to love them, we don't love them in the way that we're waiting for them to love us back.

and, like the acoustic!Justin and failure? we are becoming that which we love.

I think this has something to do with Al's holy humans idea. and I learned on friday that back when Jesus was first alive, and then right after he died, there were all these other texts written about him, that supposedly he'd taught and stuff.

and like, they're just as valid as the new testament. well, they were written at the same time and there's no way to tell which books are more accurately what jesus taught. so gnostic christian writings, which were like, linked to mystery cults in Rome and those buried, secretive cults to gods and goddesses like Ishtar and everything. they're all just as good as Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.

imagine Jesus, for a second, lighting up a darkened room with incense. initiating the Roman people into his mysteries. teaching them. there'd be wine. there'd be, god knows. we won't, not ever. that's the point of a mystery.

we love nsync like people loved Jesus. this isn't news; Al's been saying it for a long, long time. we are becoming the things we love. hopefully. if we try.

plus, we can't forget that Justin loves chris. and Justin is becoming that which he loves. therefore, Justin kills chris. just like Toby.
