Right before you went to buy the book of the summer, that's created all this depression, suicide, and apathy, your bracelet broke.

Not an ordinary bracelet, this bracelet said "do your thing" and it stood for all the faith you'd put into being a fan, into your identity as a worshipper of fan things, and for your whole lifestyle choice. It stood for your faith.

At the time, you'd said, "this isn't a good sign," and figured it meant that you wouldn't get to read the book until the day after.

You guess it stood for something else.
